Tech Lead – MERN Stack Developer

We are looking for a Tech Lead to join our team and take charge of building robust web applications using the MERN stack. In this role, you will lead development efforts, mentor junior team members, and make critical architectural decisions. Your expertise will ensure the smooth execution and timely delivery of projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where your contributions will directly impact the success of our products and help shape the growth and culture of our tech team. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of scalable applications using the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) stack.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA engineers.

  • Make architectural and tech stack decisions to improve application performance and scalability.

  • Conduct code reviews, set coding standards, and ensure best practices.

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to their technical growth.

  • Take ownership of project timelines, technical deliverables, and ensure high-quality code.

  • Manage Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose innovations that can improve our products.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in web development, with at least 3 years using the MERN stack

  • 2+ years in a lead or senior developer role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred, but not mandatory)

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JWT authentication, and WebSockets.

  • Familiarity with third-party API integrations.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerization tools such as Docker is preferred.

  • Experience with modern frameworks and technologies like Next.js, TypeScript, or GraphQL is a preferred.

Functional Skils

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities

  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Comfortable using project management tools like Jira or Trello

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Prior exposure to fast-paced or startup environments will be considered an advantage
